The Ubud Monkey Forest is a nature reserve and Hindu temple complex in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. Its official name is the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary (Balinese: Mandala Suci Wenara Wana), and its name as written on its welcome sign is the Padangtegal Mandala Wisata Wanara Wana Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. The Ubud Monkey Forest is a popular tourist attraction and is often visited by over 10,000 tourists a month. The Monkey Forest is situated within the village of Padangtegal, and the village of Padangtegal own it. Locals view the Monkey Forest as an important spiritual, economic, educational and conservation centre for the village. 

Goa Gajah is locally known as the Elephant Cave because of its close proximity to the Elephant River. A mysterious cave, relics, and ancient bathing pools set amid green rice paddies and a garden lure tourists from nearby Ubud.

The menacing entrance to Goa Gajah looks like a demonic mouth, suggesting that people are entering an underworld as they venture inside through the darkness. Some claim that the entrance represents the Hindu earth god Bhoma while others say the mouth belongs to the child-eating witch Rangda from Balinese mythology.

Tegenungan waterfall is a famous place to visit in Bali, yet it still quite hidden away from the hustle and bustle as it’s located just about 10 kilometers outside Ubud, next to Tegenungan village.

When you start to come closer you’ll see signs with a photo and text saying “Tegenungan waterfall” and a pointing arrow in the correct direction. Just follow these if you’re uncertain, but Google Maps will also work just as fine.
